15 May Four Ways to Deal with a Bully
Hi guys this is Nevaeh and I want to tell you how to deal with a bully.
I was bullied before when I first got to my new school last semester. I was the new student and there was this boy named Robert who kept calling me names.
He told me I was lame and a bunch of other things that hurt my feelings.
I told the teacher and I felt Robert’s ways were not addressed. So I said to Robert, “Can you stop! You’re irritating me.” He kept it up and called me more names. After that I decided to ignored him and pretend like I didn’t see him. And guess what? He got upset because I ignored him and he left me alone. Boy bye! I learned something powerful. Most bully’s really just want to be seen and heard and often times want to make another person feel how they feel.
That’s no excuse for a bully’s behavior. But if you can understand a bully then it is easier to deal with them.
If you’re a new student and someone is trying to bully you, here are some things you can do:
- First, tell the bully to stop.
- Ignore him and tell the teacher.
- If the teacher is not available, go straight to the principal.
- Or sometimes stay quiet and they will usually leave you alone.
Now, sometimes it’s hard to be the bigger person when a bully is upsetting you. But you shouldn’t let the actions of other people affect you especially if you know you got it going on.
If you’re in a situation where you have done all steps 1-4 above then you know this bully is not going to leave you alone and you have to be prepared to protect yourself. Let’s hope it does not get physical. Most often times, they never do. Stay strong, don’t give up and believe in yourself.
Talk later! Bye!
